Trips and Residential Experiences

We believe that trips and residential experiences are an important part of school life. They provide opportunities for students to develop independence, build confidence, strengthen friendships and feel a greater sense of belonging to our school community, as well as developing their cultural capital through experiences beyond the classroom.

Every year group is offered the opportunity to take part in at least one residential experience. In Year 7, all students are invited to our Transition Residential in October, designed to help students build positive relationships with their peers and staff and settle confidently into secondary school life.

Our wider residential programme includes a European Capitals trip for Years 7 and 8 in July and a European Christmas Markets trip for Years 9, 10 and 11 in December. We also offer curriculum-focused residentials that bring classroom learning to life, including upcoming trips to Barcelona with Spanish and Kraków with History.

Alongside residential opportunities, we run a range of day trips throughout the year. These support and enrich curriculum learning, broaden students’ experiences and provide opportunities to recognise and celebrate student progress and achievement.

We believe these experiences help our students to thrive both academically and personally, developing confidence, independence, cultural awareness and a strong sense of belonging.
