PSHE and Personal Development

Through our PSHE curriculum, we aim to equip students with the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to keep themselves safe, make informed decisions, build healthy relationships and prepare for life beyond school.

Our curriculum is carefully planned and develops as students progress through each year group. It covers key areas including physical and mental health, healthy relationships, staying safe, online safety, financial education, careers and future choices, equality and diversity, Fundamental British Values and understanding risk. Students explore increasingly complex issues as they get older, ensuring learning is age-appropriate and builds on their previous knowledge.

PSHE is complemented by our wider IGNITE programme, assemblies, themed activities and opportunities to learn from external organisations and visitors. Together, these experiences help students develop the confidence, resilience and understanding they need to navigate the challenges and opportunities of modern life.

Parents and carers can find further information about our PSHE curriculum, including what is taught within each year group, in the Curriculum section of our website.

If you have any questions about what your child is learning in PSHE, or would like further information about a particular area of the curriculum, please contact the school.
